Our Practice
Brain Psychiatry provides outpatient mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly patients (ages 6 and up). Our teams of providers, comprised of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and allied healthcare professionals, are all Board Certified, and licensed to practice in the states of California, Florida, and Nevada. We conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments involved in the diagnoses of mental disorders.
We are culturally diverse and believe in health equity. We strive to mitigate the stigma associated with mental illness by advocating for our patients. Our mental health services are delivered with care, compassion, respect, autonomy, and integrity. We utilize practices spanning psychotherapy, medication management, counseling, and other evidence-based methods to ensure the highest possible quality of care.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a conducive environment where patients and families are guided through their journey of mental growth. We are constantly looking to inspire confidence in the quality of care we provide and hope from the foundation of healing and resilience we advocate for.
Meet Our Chief Executive Officer
Ijeoma Mbadugha (IJ), is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her interest in helping the medically underserved arose decades before COVID-19, however, the pandemic was a large catalyst in her focus shift to the mentally-disadvantaged population. Currently a doctoral candidate, IJ obtained both her BSN and MSN degrees from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health across the lifespan. Her goal is to equitably provide and maintain a high quality of care as the premier community resource. She is currently licensed to practice in California, Florida, and Nevada. Ensuring compassionate, empathetic, powerful, and competent mental health services is at the forefront of her priorities.
“I believe that our patients and families deserve the best in healthcare delivery. My purpose is to help eliminate the stigma and barriers to mental healthcare and provide the highest quality and compassionate care based on individualized needs utilizing evidence-based practices. To support patients at all stages of their recovery, allowing them to live their best lives.”
